Describe your company's offerings
Your Marketing Lab is the accessible, affordable alternative to hiring a marketing/ business development consultant, or staff.

Our members are business owners and entrepreneurs with a high need for affordable, actionable marketing and business growth strategies, resources and support.

As business owners and entrepreneurs ourselves, we understand the need for relevant, targeted, actionable marketing ideas, information and strategies. It’s an urgent need business owners have right away – before they have the resources to hire an expert consultant or staff.

So, business owners must become their own marketing expert – in all their spare time.

Your Marketing Lab members get a short-cut. Rather than spending 60 hours learning how to create a dynamite marketing strategy, they spend $30 and 60 minutes in an on-line course with a marketing expert who gives them all the tools they need to do so quickly and with great results.

Rather than continuing to make the same mistake over and over when closing a deal, they spend an hour on the phone getting some sales coaching with our sales ProStaffer – and they do so for FREE.

Rather than continue to use a marketing piece that does little besides waste paper (and dollars), they seek and receive fresh, honest feedback and ideas from other members. And they do all this while also connecting to other business owners and entrepreneurs and building a name for themselves within the YML community. Pretty smart.
Which industry do you represent? (How would a client or partner label your service offering?)
Marketing
Which titles make purchase decisions for your offerings?
CEO/Owner, Engineering, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Marketing, Product Development, Sales, Other

Who are your power partners? (Who refers business to you? What business are they in?)
Anyone who's primary target market is business owners, entrepreneurs, or marketing and business development professionals. We are always looking for Joint Venture partners who have wide networks of clients/ prospects in need of marketing support.
What are some symptoms that a prospect might need your offering?
"I need to know what to do to market my business today and I don't have a lot of time or money to spend figuring it out."

"I need to connect with other business owners and entrepreneurs."
What differentiates you as a possible business partner?
We not only serve our target market (business owners and entrepreneurs), we ARE our target market. The value of Your Marketing Lab is not just in the information and tools provided, but also in the interaction and feedback given by and received from other business owners and entrepreneurs. This gives us the unique vantage point of keeping our finger on the pulse of what business owners and entrepreneurs want and need, while also providing it to them.

Lessons from the World's Greatest Salesperson

I’ve recently been newly inspired by a man by the name of Joe Girard. You’ve probably heard of him. He’s called the World’s Greatest Sales Person - and for good reason.

For more than a decade Joe sold cars. A lot of cars. In fact, in 1973 he was given the title of World’s Greatest Sales Person in the Guinness Book of World Records. Here’s a blurb from that entry: "The all-time record for automobile salesmanship in individual units sold is 1,425 in 1973Continue

Creating Effective Email: A 10 Point Checklist

This is an article by Corrinda Campbell of Business Connection Network. I thought it was excellent, and worth sharing. Enjoy!

If email marketing is on your list of marketing strategies now or anytime during the year, follow this 10 Point Checklist to increase the number of opened email and convert your prospects into customers.

1) Subject Line – This is often the most overlooked part of the email, yet it is the most important. The… Continue

Mastermind Groups are Amazing

Mastermind Groups are amazing. If you participate in one, you already know this. I participate in one that meets every month, on a Saturday, for about 6 hours. Here’s how it goes: We each take a turn sharing our most pressing problem, or new idea, or thing that isn’t working well, etc. Then, for the next 45 minutes, everyone in the group goes to work on that issue. The ideas that come out of that exchange are amazing. We all have the opportunity to look at someone else’s business objectiv… Continue

Do You Choose Your Customer, or Do They Choose You?

“Selling benefits, not features” is a mantra that is repeated often by sales and marketing experts alike in response to those seeking marketing help. At YML, we write about it a lot. One of the YML Partners, Sonia Simone even teaches a very good course on how to sell benefits rather than features.

This concept is taught often by many for good reason. It’s good positioning strategy. None of us pur… Continue

6 Secrets to Capturing More Business

I attended a lunch last week where Tony Rubleski, author of Mind Capture: How you can stand out in the age of Advertising Deficit Disorder, spoke. I took a couple pages of notes that I thought I would share with you here.

A lot of what he talked about is not ground breaking information, but he positioned it in such a way that it had a real impact on me.

It’s interesting how we need to hear the same messages over an over in order for them to real… Continue

Hey Rebecca,

Great to hear from you! Thanks so much for your feedback and comments on my post.

Of course, I remember you :)). We had some great conversations. I knew you and Erik were teaming up on some classes but did not know you started a company together. I truly hope it is going well. I know both of you have a wealth of wisdom and experience to share in the marketing arena.

I noticed you have a number of recent posts. When I have time later this week, I will take a peek.

Let's keep in touch! I always believe we cross paths for a reason (although not always obvious what that reason is :)).

Thanks again for reaching out. wishing you lots of prosperity and success in the future.
